Annika Hinsche has made a name for herself in the international plucked string music scene as a conductor of numerous orchestras and as a virtuoso performer. Annika Hinsche, née Lückebergfeld, is a sought-after, internationally active mandolinist, teacher, and conductor, as well as a winner and prizewinner of numerous competitions, including the prestigious Yasuo Kuwahara Competition.

Her concert activities regularly take her throughout Europe, Asia, and the USA.

Annika Hinsche teaches mandolin and baroque mandolin, ensemble conducting, and chamber music at the Cologne University of Music and Dance and the Saar University of Music. In the winter semester of 2023/24, she held a visiting professorship at the Cologne University of Music and Dance. She has also been a guest lecturer at Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA, and is regularly invited to festivals in Europe, Asia, and the USA as a soloist, in the Mare Duo, and as a conductor.

Students in her classes are regularly winners and prizewinners of national and international competitions.

Annika Hinsche has recorded several CDs, including her three solo CDs "Aproximação," "12 Preludes for Mandolin Solo by Carlo Domeniconi," and "Mandopolis." With the "Mare Duo," she has recorded the four CDs "Crystal Tears," "Mare Duo plays Frank Wallace," and two CDs for the renowned Naxos label, "Music for Mandolin and Guitar by Carlo Domeniconi" and "Crossing the Americas." She has also recorded the CD "Impressioni" with the Quartetto Colori and other recordings, such as those for the "MTV Unplugged" series.

She is the dedicatee of over 100 compositions for mandolin by composers such as C. Domeniconi, J. Zenamon, J. Kindle, K. Vassiliev, F. Wallace, L. Wüller, and T.A. She has performed with composers such as LeVines, M. Borner, and O. Boyko, and has given numerous world premieres. Carlo Domeniconi dedicated his "12 Preludes for Solo Mandolin" to her, and Jürg Kindle wrote the cycle "Mandopolis" with 12 scordatura fantasias for her. Both works are considered milestones of the modern mandolin repertoire by experts.

Annika Hinsche has edited scores for various instrumentations for publishers such as Trekel, Margaux, ex-tempore, and Edition Kalimba.

She studied mandolin in Wuppertal with Prof. Marga Wilden-Hüsgen, Prof. Caterina Lichtenberg, and Gertrud Weyhofen, and in Boston with Prof. John McGann.
