Markus Sich works as a musician, music educator, and lecturer at music schools, with orchestras and ensembles, and was a board member of the European Guitar Teachers Association Germany – NRW from 2015 to 2023. He is a sought-after juror at instrumental competitions such as "Jugend musiziert" (Youth Makes Music) and the Gerd Högener Prize in Düsseldorf.

Alongside his studies, he refined his instrumental playing in masterclasses with, among others, Zoran Dukić, Hubert Käppel, William Kanengiser, Judicaël Perroy, and Pavel Steidl.

Markus Sich has received numerous awards and prizes at various competitions.

For his chamber music work with the ensemble trioLogie, he has received several scholarships, including from the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation "Live Music Now" and the Werner Richard - Dr. Carl Dörken Foundation.

In 2015, his debut album, "vol. 1: soundscapes," with the ensemble trioLogie, was released on the Encora label.

In 2018 and 2019, he was the director of the Mettmann Municipal Music School.

He studied classical guitar at the Cologne/Wuppertal University of Music with Professor Alfred Eickolt and Professor Gerhard Reichenbach.
