Simon Winkler

Simon Winkler was born in Ibbenbüren in 2000 and began playing guitar in 2006.
He studied classical guitar in Osnabrück with Dr. Fabian Hinsche, where he earned his Bachelor's degree. Currently, Simon is studying with Prof. Marcin Dylla in Münster, pursuing his Master of Music degree in guitar performance.
Simon Winkler has won prizes at the Jugend Musiziert competition, both at the state and national levels, particularly in chamber music categories. He also won first prize in the "Guitar Plus" category at the 2016 Twents Guitar Festival as part of a guitar duo.
In addition to competitions, Simon is involved with several ensembles, including the Rheine 1983 Guitar Ensemble, the North Rhine-Westphalia State Guitar Orchestra "Nylon-String-Orchestra," and the North Rhine-Westphalia Youth Guitar Orchestra (JZO-NRW), both as a player and conductor. He also plays double bass in independent string and symphony orchestras and has a long history of playing saxophone in various big bands and wind ensembles.
As an instrumental music teacher, he teaches guitar at the Rheine Guitar Studio and the Tecklenburger Land Municipal Music School.
Simon Winkler regularly performs smaller concerts in the Steinfurt district, both as a soloist and in chamber music ensembles.
